Simon Says - Hip Hop

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
HIP HOP !
I created Easter themed cards using Tim Holtz Idea-ology Vault 8" x 8" Wallflower Paper and Serpendity Collage Paper for the background, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Hippity Hop and Vault Wildflower Thinlits die-cut from Sizzix Revealz Sandable Spiced Cardstock.
I trimmed Tim Holtz/Idea-ology 8" x 8" Vault Wallflower Paper to create 2 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels and fixed torn strips of the script Serendipity Collage Paper in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Sizzix Surfacez Revealz Spiced Sandable Cardstock, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Hippity Hop Thinlits and sanded back using Tim Holtz Mini Round Blending Tool and a Distress Sanding Disk.
I repeated the process with the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits and fixed the die-cuts to the panels using Distress Collage Medium.
I trimmed one of the Wallflower Paper to create ephemera pieces, inked around the edges with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Tiny Blending Tool, fixed to the panels with Distress Collage Medium and inked around the edges of the panel with Scorched Timber Distress Ink.
I applied Distress Grit Paste Opaque through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Dot Gradient Layering Stencil from Set 39.
I fixed the rabbits to the panels with 3D foam squares to create dimension, added White Hemp Twine, held in place with dots of Distress Collage Medium and added the letters and butterflies die-cut from the Sizzix Surfacez Revealz Sandable cardstock.
I added splatters of Dina Wakely Black Gloss Spray. I stamped the sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Simple Sayings and Spring Shadows on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, trimmed and used Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink and a Distress Tiny Blending Tool to add colour to the edges. To finish I matted the panels on to A2 white card blanks.

Simon Says - Use Ephemera/Layer It Up

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
USE EPHEMERA/LAYER IT UP
I had great fun layering up ephemera in my Dina Wakley Media Ledger Journal using Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Collage Strips Large, Serendipity Collage Paper, Layer Frames Montage, Transparent Wings, Mini Marquee Letters and Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dot Gradient Mini Layering Stencil from Set 39 with Distress Grit Paste Opaque to add some texture.
I began by applying a skimpy coat of White Gesso over the journal pages using a Small Distress Brayer. I fixed Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Collage Strips Large in place using Distress Collage Medium. I applied water with a paintbrush around the edge of the floral image from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Serendipity Collage Paper and teased away the excess with my finger. I then fixed the pieces of collage paper to the pages using Distress Collage Medium and applied Distress Collage Medium over the pages using a Distress Collage Brush.
I applied Walnut Stain Distress Crayon on the edges of the Collage Strips to create shadows, Mustard Seed Distress Crayon to the flowers on the collage paper and blended the crayons using a damp finger. I added a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Layering Frame, butterfly from Idea-ology Transparent Wings and Idea-ology Mini Marquee Letters and Numbers, all fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I added extra pieces of Serendipity Collage Paper to fill in some of the blanks and applied Distress Grit Paste Opague through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Gradient Dots Mini Layering Stencil from Set 39.
To finish I added splatters of Distress Black Soot Paint.

Simon Says Stamp - Rain or Shine Release

Hello my friends, I'm back to share simple cards using the floral images and sentiments from Simon Says Stamp Loving Thoughts 6" x 8" stamp set from the recent Rain or Shine release, stamped on soft pastel Distress Oxide watercolor backgrounds. You can check all the fabulous products in the new release HERE.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 2 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels, inked one of the floral images from the Loving Thoughts stamp set with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped repeatedly on the background.
I coloured a strip of Distress Watercolor card with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink using a Mini Round Blending Tool and fixed on the bottom of the panel. I stamped the floral image, butterflies and sentiment on to the panel, inked with Simon Says Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
I smooshed the Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, coloured the images using a Distress Detailer Waterbrush and added ink splatters on the background.
I repeated the process on the second panel using Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide inks.
To finish I inked the edges of the panel with Peeled Paint and Broken China Distress Oxide inks using a mini round blending tool, added Simon Says Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems and fixed the panels to A2 white card blanks.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are making.

Simon Says Stamp - Pretty Poppies

Hello my friends, it's Happy Thursday.  Simon Says Stamp have a just released their new collection - Rain Or Shine. There are lots of fabulous new products in this release and you can check them all out HERE.

I created a card using Simon Says Pretty Poppies wafer dies, coloured with Distress Oxide inks, the butterflies and sentiment from the Loving Thoughts 6" x 8" stamp set on a background of Simple Stories Color Palette Warm Washi Tape.
I used my go-to custom blend ink pad (Iced Spruce/Weathered Wood Distress Oxides and Hickory Smoke/Old Paper Distress Inks) to create a neutral background on an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card.
I added strips of Simple Stories Color Palette Warm Washi Tape and fixed in place torn strips of script paper from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Serendipity Collage Papers, with Distress Collage Medium, all included in Simon Says Stamp April 2025 Card Kit.

I die-cut Simon Says Pretty Poppies wafer dies from Distress Watercolor card, placed on my Simon Says Pawsitively Perfect Craft Tacky Mat and coloured with Scattered Straw, Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn and Scorched Timber Distress Oxide inks using Simon Says Stamp Detail Round Blending Brushes.
I assembled the die-cuts and fixed to the panel with 3D foam squares behind the flower heads to create dimension.
I stamped the butterflies from Simon Says Stamp Loving Thoughts 6" x 8" stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on to a scrap of Distress Black HeavyStock, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Stamp White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I fussy cut around the sentiment and fixed in place with 3D foam squares.
I trimmed the panel to 3.3/4" x 5", matted on to Distress Black HeavyStock trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank. To finish I used a Sakura Black Glaze Pen to darken the poppy centres and to add dots to the petals.

I'll be back tomorrow to share more makes with products from the Rain or Shine release.
